Ok so I finally got the chip installed, and the boost guage. I wanted to see what the boost was doing with the EBC before I put the MBC in there so that I would have some sort of baseline. I'm very happy with the z chip at this point.. no funny codes flashing on the dash, pulls way stronger everywhere in the power band, and NO STUDDERING!

I could kiss you guys!

First couple of gears it's pretty much a 15 pound boost peak, third and 4th I have seen a maximum of 18 pounds, but I found a nice long steep hill to slow the car down a bit and give the boost some time to build, and I get maybe 20 pounds peak in 4th gear. The guage does move around a bit, which I guess is normal.

Is this where the stock boost level should be with the EBC? ( my only mod is the Z chip ). I'm a bit nervous adding 4 or 5 extra pounds boost through the MBC, and I remember reading that your best results were keeping the peak boost at the stock levels. The 25 pound peak your are discussing elsewhere is not even close to where I am right now stock.

What do you think? My fuel is 94 RON. Will I see a worthwhile benefit putting the MBC on and dialing my boost only up to say 22 or 23 pounds? Or even leaving it at 20 pounds? Or should I go to 25..

I just don't want to have a Mexican rebuild..

I will do just that..

I was looking around to get a definitive answer as to what the stock boost peak and taper were with these cars.. Is there a range, and is mine on the low side peakwise?

The reason I ask is because the tech Mitsubishi flew out from Japan to look at my car ( it was the first I believe up here to show this studdering problem ) said something about the car overboosting, and worked on it all day.. It was hard to communicate with him as he spoke very little english...

It's possible ( if it's possible ) that he lowered my boost peak to lessen the studdering.. which would leave me where I am now..

Just curious!

Oh and by the way.. How much length and what size ID is the replacement hose that I will need to get for the Forge MCB hookup ?

Anyone?

Oh and also does the Z chip disable my rev limiter? ( no I haven't tried it, but these things are good to know Mark
