It appears that there have been a few cases of spoolup and lower gear gains, but lacking top end power. We have reviewed some data and it appears that the proper tachometer (RPM) input wire has been missed in a few cases.

The instructions in the other thread within this section indicate a WHITE with RED STRIPE wire in the bottom of the loom in between the silver metal turbo outlet pipe and the blow off valve rubber hose.

You must insure a solid connection to the tach or you will experience less than stellar results with the unit.

In order to verify you have a solid tach input, the easiest way is to connect to the zchip box via a RS232 cable and if necessary a usb to serial converter.

Once you have the box connected, select the COM PORT at the top left of the ZChip software.

VERIFY YOUR SUCCESSFUL TAPPING OF THE RPM TACH INPUT WITH THE GREEN WIRE BY USING THE SOFTWARE AND VERIFY THE RPM SIGNAL IS CORRECT BY WATCHING THE RPMS AND MAP TRACING. REV THE ENGINE AND INSURE THE CELLS ARE TRACING UP AND DOWN.

The Z chip package includes the serial cable. Only the first batch lacked serial cables since we wanted to ship the units before the SEMA show.

9 pin serial cable is a typical computer piece available at computer stores. If we waited for serial cables the first batch would ship after SEMA. You guys wanted the Zchips very badly ASAP.
Said that, we shipped couple extra cables to TTP with the second batch. Please contact them.
