My Z-Chip Review
Alright, I was lucky enough to have my 2009 Mitsu Lancer RalliArt Chipped, tuned and dyno'd by TTP. Being new to the scene of performance modding I was unsure how to upgrade my power in the RA for the most bang for my buck. After much research I decided to go the TTP way of being chipped. I drove from Texas to Florida to visit family and make a trip to TTP along the way and it was pretty much worth it. They offered great service with great custom tuning. No problems after day one. But I did get a CEL on my way back to Jacksonville, but was told it could appear ofter. The CEL went away about 5 hrs later though, so no CEL as of now, but I can prob expect it to return since TTP upped the PSI from 17 to 22 psi. and it's usual for the ecu to detect boost changes.
Now I dont have the Dyno graphs to post here just yet. but I will post them once I get them scanned first thing monday(TTP may have a post here soon, with the graphs and such of my car)
Baseline stock my numbers were:
Max Wheel Torque - 242
Max WHP - 214
Z-Chip Tuned
Max Wheel Torque - 265
Max WHP - 252
I also did noticed my car was doing 0-60 in about 6 secs
Now after chipped and tuned its doing 0-60 in about 5 secs.( maybe a tad quicker)
as far as the numbers game and perfomance, this product is highly recommended along with the service from TTP.
Reliability-wise it seems ok, just have to wait and see if I come across any issues.
overall im satisfied and the car seems a bit quicker, especially from like 35-60.
Thanks to Gilbert for the review!

ZCHIP TUNED NUMBERS:

Here is the graph overlay. NOTE the area under the curve. Peak to peak torque did not seem like astounding gains unless you look at the graph and see that the stock average peak tq was only about 227wtq whereas post-tuning, the car peaked around 265 torque and stayed there with much area under the curve.

Can we order/ buy the Z chip with mapping/ tuning that was used in Gilberts Orange RA?

hey i have a question, if i remember right you had another RA that didnt hit the "torque protection" right?

Torque protection is mainly a result of forcing the car in one gear and doing high load pulls at low rpms.
This is not a natural occurrance on the street and less likely to be a concern.

was the boost increased in the tune?

The ZChip does not control boost, however best results will be achieved through additional boost.

Can you order the Zchip with this mapping/ programing for the RA? And will it be difficult to tune later with and exhaust & intake?

ok how do i increase boost, im under the impression that with IdriveRA his boost was increased with your tune..Im really itching for a K&N, with the tune you gave me, would it be cool or no? what exactly was the tune i received.. also im thinking about changing the downpipe. if you guys can make a tuning trip down here i would buy parts and let you guys go mess with my car.

Hey JON, it's chris from miami! They used a manual boost controller in my car, in fact, I think thats the only way to increase boost with our set-ups (z-chip). If you read in the other threads, they're concerned about tuning down here due to the lack of a bad-ass dyno near by equivalent to there's up there, I know, I've asked a couple times.lol later.

Our dyno is the most advanced in the state. We have the obd2 datalogging option which is critical in aquiring and datalogging important engine vitals unable to be obtained at other locations. Ignition timing, AIT, airflow, wbo2, boost, fmic radiator temperature control etc.
The LOCKED rollers in AWD mode protect the driveline from damage of the front and rear wheels spinning at different speeds and the eddy brake puts the same force back on the wheels as the car speeds up as it would on the street. This in important when setting boost and tuning a car so that it performs the same when it hits the streets.

ok ive tried contacting you guys at ttp through evom and got no response. So im trying here. I have a question with the custom line to increase boost for the RA. If thats not the same as the "Boost pill" then can you give a explaintation to what you guys are doing. Can i purchase the "boost pill" and you guys send me a map? Also i just put on a turbo back exhaust, would a new map increase performance? Can you guys email me a new map? Alright hope i get a response soon thanks

We have responded to you through evom that its a custom technique we use in house which is precisely measured on the dyno. You are welcome to come in and have it done at our facility.
