After Capone complained that he brought his Evo X into the dealer for an oil change and they evidently reflashed his car, reset all the trip lights, possibly disconnected the battery, we thought we would make life much easier on Evo X owners simply wanting to change their own oil and/or reset their maintenance by using the following steps:

1. When you lightly press the multi-information meter switch, the information screen switches to the service reminder display screen.

2. Press and hold the multi-info meter switch (for about 2 seconds or more) to display the "wrench sign" and make it flash. (If there is no operation for about 10 seconds with this indicator flashing, the display returns to the previous screen.)

3. With this indicator flashing, if you lightly press the multi-info meter switch, the screen switches from "---" to "CLEAR". After that, the time until the next periodic inspection is shown.

You can do it with the key in the OFF position.

It's all in the manual. I called Mitsu after getting oil, brakes, tires changed and they said "do you own the manual, it's in there" and hung up on me rudely right after that. I guess I'll never be going to the dealer again for sure now.

That seems to be the MO for most Mitsu dealers for some reason. Although I have ultimately had my car repaired [properly] at the dealer, their attitude remains staggeringly rude and uncaring. These guys are worse than Sprint used to be!!! I mean really, you build one of the ultimate super-car killers, then treat us like we just bought a used Neon for nothing down. Come ON!!! :director:

Luckily i dont have this issue with my dealer. Ive been going there since 2003 and ive never had any problems, neither have they treated me bad. And, i know most of the techs in there so theyre pretty cool about fixing my past modified evos :)

Watch out for that dealer. Don't trust the service dep't. The old svc mgr no longer works there.

Turn the key to the "on" position with the engine not running. Push and hold the button. This will bring up the reset menu. You can't reset it with the engine running.

Hope this helps.

If you have your owner's manual, it's on page 3-164. Push the "info" button lightly to cycle through until you get to the display that show "miles" on top and "month" on the bottom. Press and hold to make it flash...press it again while flashing and it will switch to "clear."

Let me know if you can't get it to work.
